Financial

Your gifts and investments will provide the meaningful difference in what we do. In addition to fulfilling your philanthropic objectives, you and your family also may benefit from a reduction in estate taxes. Donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Santa Barbara County. (You can designate your local preference: donation to your Santa Barbara, Santa Maria or Lompoc areas.)

Charitable Planning

Gifts to Catholic Charities, whether outright or in trust, may involve cash, securities, life insurance, real property or almost any other kind of property. Although the tax benefits will vary depending upon the form of gift and the kind of asset, and your income tax basis in the gifted property, you may realize income, gift, and estate tax advantages from a gift to Catholic Charities. We urge you to discuss your specific tax planning needs with a qualified accountant or other professional advisor.

Will Bequest

Designate Catholic Charities for a specific financial gift or a percentage of the value of your estate. Amending your existing will can be achieved through a simple codicil with which your attorney can assist you.

Revocable Trusts

If you have an existing Revocable Trust, an amendment to include Catholic Charities as a beneficiary would allow you to support our efforts. Your attorney can prepare a simple amendment to make such a gift.

Irrevocable Trust Gifts

Irrevocable Trusts can be used to make a gift to Catholic Charities and retain an income or other interest for you, your spouse and your family. Examples of such instruments are Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts and Charitable Gift Annuities.
